Kim Basinger also took a swing at designing her own Oscars dress with this satin Cinderella-inspired gown that included half of a coordinating jacket that made for a confusing look. The actress, who attended the ceremony to present Dead Poets Society as one of the year's Best Picture nominees, paired the quirky ensemble with a red lip and rosy cheeks. Her signature long blonde locks rounded out the look. Eight years later, Basinger took home the coveted prize for Best Supporting Actress for her role in L.A. Confidential.
